Dear NAFCA members, community members and friends,
Nepali new year celebration this year marked the next phase in NAFCA with the induction of new Executive Committee. Thank you for supporting me as your president of this Organization.
Founded in 1998, NAFCA has been very successful in its mission “to preserve and promote Nepali cultural heritage and foster mutual cooperation among Nepalis and friends of Nepal.” I am very grateful to all the past presidents and members for their respective roles and contributions. So, please accept my deep gratitude.
As evident among us, we have a diverse Nepali population in this region with various background and is growing rapidly. We have a generation of U.S. born nepalis. We must be inclusive and create environment for all to be involved in our community. Let’s come together as community, foster friendship, strengthen our organization, and preserve our cultural heritage!
Our team is committed to increasing credibility, organizational effectiveness, transparency, and collaboration. Finances will be transparent, community input will always be sought and considered during decision making, more cultural events will be created. Our meeting minutes will be posted online, website will be regularly updated, and social media presence will be strong. Feasibility polling will be done prior to any events and feedback will be collected post event for future improvements. I am excited !
Challenges are ahead of us, but with my committed team, community, your support, and a sense of togetherness, I am confident that we can succeed in our important mission as outlined in our mission statement.
